Exploratory cystoscopy: endoscopic procedure for direct examination of the lining of the bladder, it is performed with a short general anesthetic (propofol) , to detect the inflammatory changes, stones, foreign bodies, and tumors of the bladder. Placement and removal of ureteral and J-J probes endoscopically, by using short-term anesthesia (propofol) and X-ray check-up.
Dilation (expansion) of the urinary tract – urethra, is a procedure which is performed in conditions of a daily hospital. An indication for this interventional procedure is each narrowing of the urethra, caused by inflammatory processes, trauma or postsurgical stenosis – urethral strictures. It is performed with metal dilators, in local anesthesia. The entire procedure lasts 20 minutes.
Application (instillation through a Nelaton catheter) of medications (BCG – immucyst, Mitomycin) in the bladder – it is applied as an additional therapy after the transurethral resection of superficial bladder tumors.
