Ophthalmology examination

Refraction, determination of visual acuity, measurement of eye pressure, examination of the anterior segment.

The basic examination involves the examination of the anterior segment of the eye (diopter control, allergies, irritations, eye dryness, foreign bodies in the eye) and it is recommended for people with known eye diseases, as a regular control examination.

Even if a patient does not have any symptoms and would only like preventive control of the eyes and eyesight control, they can also make an appointment for such an examination.

Ophthalmology examination

Subspecialist examination

Refraction, determination of visual acuity, measurement of eye pressure, examination of the anterior and posterior segments (examination of the fundus)

This is a more detailed examination comprising an examination of the anterior segment, as well as determination of diopter (new diopter, diopter changes, hidden diopter examination) and an examination of the posterior segment of  the eye (the fundus of the eye and the optical nerve).

This examination is recommended for people that have never had an eye exam before, as well as for people that have not had an eye exam recently but do have some evident changes of their eyesight.

Subspecialist examination

Ophthalmologic examination of dilated pupils in children

Refraction, determination of visual acuity, measurement of eye pressure, examination of the fundus of the eye and the posterior segment of the eye, stereo vision and color vision

This is an examination suitable for children that have never had an eye exam before.

The examination involves checking the eye movement coordination, the placement of the eyeball, the ability of the eye to accommodate at close range, examination of a binocular vision, stereo and color vision.

Retinological examination

Refraction, determination of visual acuity, tonometry, examination of the anterior and the posterior segment of the eye, OCT.

This examination, in addition to the other tests, also involves an examination of the patient’s retina. With OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) we examine the structure of the macula and the optic nerve to find out if there are any defects in that structure that are invisible when viewed with a magnifying glass, as well as the status of the blood vessels in the posterior segment of the eye.

This examination is most suitable for diabetic patient or patients with already diagnosed retinal issues (diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular edema …)

Retinological examination

Complete ophthalmological examination

Refraction, determination of visual acuity, measurement of eye pressure, examination of the anterior and the posterior examination, B-scan and OCT.

This is an examination for patients with undiagnosed symptoms or problems with the macula. This examination is also suitable for patients with diagnosed problems with the retina or the optical nerve.

Complete ophthalmological examination

Cataract examination

Refraction, determination of visual acuity, measurement of eye pressure, examination of the fundus of the eye, echo/biometrics, IOL master, OCT of the optical nerve and the macula, topography of the cornea.

This examination involves the preliminary examination (echo/biometrics, IOL master) necessary before performing a cataract surgery.

This examination is suitable for patients with already diagnosed cataract that want to have it surgically removed.

Cataract examination

Glaucoma examination

Refraction, determination of visual acuity, gonioscopy, measurement of eye pressure, OCT, field of vision, tonometry with pachymetry

This examination is performed in patients with elevated eye pressure or in patients with diagnosed glaucoma in the past and where it is necessary to determine whether any further damage or progression of the glaucoma have occurred. After the tests, an ophthalmologist will make determination whether/which specific measures are recommended.

Glaucoma examination

Oculoplasty examination

External examination of the eyes (the skin around the eyes)

This is suitable for patients with ectropium, entropion, and patients with changes in the eyelids.

Oculoplasty examination

Examination using a VOLK GOLDMAN magnifying lens

This examination is suitable for patients who need a fundus examination (an examination of the fundus of the eye/posterior segment) and patients with retinal problems.

Optometry examination

This examination is used to determine the diopter and issue eyeglass prescription.

Optometry examination

Probing and flushing of the tear ducts

This procedure is suitable for patients with blocked tear ducts (patients with symptoms such as excessive tearing, redness in the white portion of the eye, eye mucus or discharge etc.)
