PULMONOLOGY
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is treated using respiratory physiotherapy with pharmacological support which increases the effect of the respiratory pathways obstruction treatment, inhalation therapy with aeorsols in combination with exercises, intravenous therapy with bronchodilators, mucosecretolytics, decongestives, and antibiotics, but it is also important to mention that the treatment is not complete unless it is combined with respiratory physiotherapy.
Chronic cough
Chronic cough that lasts longer than 8 weeks (in adults) is a conditions that can cause disturbance to the normal life because it disturbs the normal sleep, causes fatigue, and negatively impacts concentration. The diagnosis is determined by taking the patient’s anamnesis and familiarizing which the patient’s prior illnesses, as well as diagnostic tests, spirometry, diffusion capacity measurement, chest x-ray, computer tomography, and bronchoscopy.
Allergy
Zan Mitrev Clinic performs respiratory function tests, skin allergy tests, bronchodilation tests and appropriate treatment of allergies.
Bronchoscopy is an invasive method used for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes of lung (bronchial) diseases. Bronchoscopy is used to visualize the bronchial stem of the patient. The Olympus bronchoscope available in Zan Mitrev Clinic is a state-of-the-art technology both for inner visualization of the lungs, as well as for therapeutic purposes.
This method is performed under short-term general anesthesia, and it is a reliable, quick, safe examination method.
The reasons for bronchoscopy include the following:
Virtual bronchoscopy is a computer generated three dimensional postprocessing techniques that produces high resolution images of the tracheobronchial stem and it is a simulation and a substitute for the conventional bronchoscopy.
This method is of interest not only to pulmonologists, but also to radiologists because it can be very useful for evaluating patients with suspected respiratory pathways pathologies. This method is performed under short-term general anesthesia, and it is a reliable, quick, safe examination method.
